PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MEETING HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO AN UPCOMING MEETING AT CITY HALL WITH ALL PARTIES INCLUDING PHASE 5 HOME BUYERS. PLEASE CONTACT-US FOR MORE INFORMATION.
On September 27 2008 a meeting will be held consisting of home buyers, city official(s) and hopefully a representative from Mattamy and MOE to discuss the 8 to 12 month delay and the new Environmental Assessment.
The meeting will be held at Tailgators restaurant lounge between the hours of 2pm and 5pm. Tailgators is located upstairs at Merivale Mall at the corner of Merivale and Viewmount.
On August 26th 2008 I was thrilled to receive a call from Councilor Qadri’s office. We discussed this up coming meeting and Mr. Qadri’s representative informed me that Mr. Qadri is available on that date and has pencilled has confirmed his presence.
If you are interested in comming to the meeting please supply a comment with your name, email, lot number and phone number in the below form. If you wish to remain more private you can email the information to fairwinds.phase.five@gmail.com.
If you have specifc questions you feel should be tabled please send them to the aforementioned email address by September 17th.
We will have a get together of home buyers at our home September 20th to review the questions. If you are interested in attending this get together please let us know via the email address. The purpose is to review the questions and word them in such a fashion that they can be sent to Mattamy, MOE and the City.
There is a lot to learn and a lot to ask so sign up and participate. We need a majority of home owners to come to the meeting.

I will definatley attend the meeting. You already have the five main questions I think we all would like answered. One question specifically for Mattamy would be – could they freeze the upgrade prices at today’s price?. It would be terrible to lose a years equity on our house 12 months of interest on our deposits then get hit with having to pay more for upgrades than we would have had too if everything went according to plan. AS far as I know I am the only one that has already had my design center meetings, but that may not ensure I don’t get hit with price increases when I sign a new contract. A related question to that would be – can Mattamy change anything in our new contracts other than the closing date??? Another good question would be – If Mattamy knows that the delay will be 120 days beyond our closing date, why are they making us wait until that time to return our deposits??

Unfortunately, I am unable to make it, as I will be working. My husband is a shift worker and unable to attend as well.

I currently have not been provided with a new closing date from Mattmamy. My original closing date was April 8th 2008. It was pushed back to June 5th, 2008, then again to January 21st 2009 and now they are saying the will “aim for March 25th 2009″!!!!
