About Us
We thought it would be appropriate to provide some information on both Dan and I. Let’s face it you really do not know who we are and we are trying to get this meeting organized and why should you sign up. So below is a simple bit of information on both of us.
Keith Chadwick
April 19th, 1968
For the past 18 years I have been a software developer focusing in on MicrosoftSolutions as consultant in both the private and public sector. Last year I took a employee position at iStudio, a local kick butt web firm.
Althought I have been working in computers since the late 70′s due to my father working at Nortel this was not my original aspirations. After high school I spent several years playing keyboards in a rock band called the Edge at local clubs such as Barrymores and other establishments. I will always have a sincere love of music and it is one of my favorite trivia subjects. After the musician stint I decided to smarten up and did a stint at Ottawa University in Sociology and Psychology. Before I could finish computers came calling and I was pulled back in for the money and I have been there ever since.
Overall I guess I did not do the easy path that life sets out for you. But a rugged path leads to a greater appreciation for what’s out there.
I was originally born just outside of Liverpool England but our family immigrated here to Canada in 1968 and planted roots in Ottawa. I grew up in my early years in the Parkwood Hills area then in 1976 our family moved to Crystal Beach in Ottawa’s west end where my parents remain to this day. I am firmly a Beach Bum as the neighbourhood denotes and went to D.A. Moddie then Bell High School.
Everything posted on this blog is my personal opinion and does not necessarily represent the views of my employer or its clients.
Danielle Chadwick
May 28th, 1975
Danielle is a native of Gatineu Quebec and has grown up in the area. Unlike my life where I choose the paths I took Danielle had no choice but to take the paths laid out before her. At an early age, 15, her mother passed away suddenly after becomming estranged from her due to her step father. At an early age she had a young boy, Shane, who continues to be an on and off again part of our lives. Like many young women in her position Danielle worked the restaurants to get buy and became a top notch waitress. A job I would never want I might add as it is pretty thankless.
Over the past either years though Danielle has become a ferocious reader of political books and News TV. Although she has a real soft spot for Henry the Eigth and that whole era. I can not count the number of arguments we have had over the political importance of Iran, Iraq, Pakistan not to mention the recent incursian by Russia into Georgia.
Us
Danielle and I met in 2000 after I was recently divorced from my first wife. A short term marriage that took longer to end than it actually lasted. We met one evening while I was out celebrating my divorce and I convinced her to come home with me so I could play a song on the piano for her, Downstream by Supertramp if your curious. She ended up staying that night and in eight years we have never left each others side.
We are not the perfect couple by any means. We have had our ups and downs with some of them extreme but have always managed to pull through some how. Within the first year of being together I proposed to Danielle in Dominican Republic and the following summer we where married in our parents back yard. Less than two months later I left my long term contract due to burn out and was unable to find more work. Both of us moved into my parents place with the idea of it being a short stay.
During our time at my parents I was forced into personnel bankruptcy due to unpaid taxes. Shortly afterward Danielle became pregnant whith our first Child Colyn, pictured above. 18 months later we where again expecting this time whith Ashton. Colyn is now 3 and 1/2 and Ashton turns 2 in September. In January of this year after 5 years of living withmy parents and nerves getting stretched on both sides we finally moved to a new home. At this time we started looking to buy our first home and get our life back on track and moving forward after so many hiccups and bumps.
I guess what we are trying to tell you is we are not better or worse than the rest of you in this lousy situation. We have had our ups and downs like everyone and have somehow managed to stay together dispite the difficulties placed in front of us.
For us this situation has been a galvanizing event that as a couple we have both rallied together on. We work for ourselves and for everyone who needs and wants someone to stand up for them. We are not electing ourselves as leaders, far from it, but we feel that we need to do something.
Rock the Boat
